I am so very excited about this tune. It was written by my daughter, Stephanie Abrams, aka Aurora Monroe. The original version of this song sounded very different. It was given to me by a close friend and producer Gerald Sowell. He gave it to me with the idea that I could expand on what he had started. He is actually the one who entitled the song "My Weapon". I played my horn on the original track, but hated the outcome. It just kinda layed there. I told Stephanie to come up with a rap on the tune with the theme of my trumpet being my weapon. Her rap lyrics and vocal hook were totally off the chain. I then took the track and added some additional music to it. It had finally all fallen into place. I decided that this song should be the title song to the album. The vocals were later redone at "Lion Studios" owned by Randy Johnson in Country Club Hills, Il. The final mix and master were done by Bobbie "Bebop" Ritchie at Bebop's Drop Studios in Chicago Il.
